Rydgefarmacy is a movement built on fifteen years of natural farming, medical research, and lived results — connecting soil health, plant science, and human microbiome as a real pathway out of chronic disease.
Our story
My journey into the invisible world began with an accident.
Working on a vanilla plantation in Tahaa, I fell while carrying a motorised spray pump loaded with agricultural chemicals — and ended up in emergency, unable to breathe, being treated for chemical poisoning. That moment split my life in two. When I recovered, I went searching for answers and found myself in the invisible world of microbes — and four years later emerged with Evolution Farm, French Polynesia’s first natural farming book. What followed was a decade of building a chemical-free farming system on that foundation, and founding the first natural agriculture school in Bora Bora — a program that proved, beautifully, that Tahitians take to this work like they were born for it.
Then my son Jack became seriously ill. Rheumatic Fever. An eight-year antibiotic program prescribed. I went searching again — this time inside the human gut — and found myself standing in the same invisible world I had been farming for fifteen years. Eight months later, Jack’s cardiologist looked at his scans and called the recovery unprecedented. Shortly after, Miri arrived at our door carrying Type 2 diabetes, obesity, hypertension, and endometrial cancer simultaneously. Two months later, her cancer was gone, eleven kilos lost, blood pressure normalised, and her diabetes in remission.
What the science revealed is that the microbiome of the soil and the human gut operate by exactly the same biological laws. What feeds one, feeds the other. From soil to plant to gut — out of that came farmacy. Not a pharmacy, a farmacy. The bridge between the soil and the gut. Between what we grow and what grows inside us.

These are not statistics. These are our neighbours, our families, our people. Seven in ten adults in French Polynesia are living with or at serious risk of chronic disease. We are 285,000. We are running out of time.
Rydgefarmacy exists because we believe the solution is already here — grown in our soil, proven in our kitchens, tested in our people. Our mission is to build the movement that delivers it: through churches, communities, schools, and a growing network of farmacies across the islands. With the right partnerships and the will to act, we believe French Polynesia can reverse its health standing entirely.
It is an enormous challenge. But the science is solid, the results are real, and the vision is clear.
